Brass wire mesh is an alloy of copper and zinc
Brass mesh is woven by Brass wire, phosphor bronze wire, or copper wire. It is used for separation and sifting kinds pellet, grain, porcelain earth and glass, chinaware printing and filter liquid.
Our brass woven wire cloth products are widely used in mining, petroleum, chemical, electronic, transport, plastic, food, construction and other fields.
The chemical composition of brass is 60-70% copper plus 30-40% zinc. Zinc in brass woven wire mesh is important as it provides added resistance and higher tensile strengths; it also hardens the mesh, compared to its softer copper woven wire mesh counterpart. For these reasons, brass wire mesh is used in filtration and separation applications.
Brass is superior to copper wire mesh in abrasion resistance and tensile strength, but electrical conductivity of brass wire is considerably lower than that for copper wire. Brass mesh is fairly stiff, but it can be sent by hand and easily cut with tin snips and common scissor. Superior to copper abrasion resistance and tensile strength.
